Thank you all who joined us for a weekend full of faith, fellowship and fun at the St. Iakovos Retreat Center in November! And a special thanks to Costa Zografopoulos for being our keynote speaker this year and sharing his stories.

OUR KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Costa Zografopoulos

Constantine Zografopoulos is the founder and executive director of the Z Life Program at Open Doors Organization, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization in Illinois. He was injured in an auto accident in 1995 and as a result, had both of his legs amputated.⁣

He is a businessman and has been involved in the foodservice industry for forty years in Chicago. He holds a B.S. degree from DePaul University and a M.S. degree from Roosevelt University. He has used his ability to speak English, Greek, Portuguese and Spanish to participate in international projects and lectures. He is a public speaker involving corporations, non-profits community organizations, and associations. He was involved in the Chicago accessible lakefront beach path project. He founded Perpato, a leading organization for people with disabilities in Komotini, Greece.⁣

He currently serves on the United Airlines Travel Advisory Board, the Chicagoland Alliance for Disabled Owned Businesses, Open Doors Organization Advisory Committee, and the Parish Council of St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church. He is an Archon member of the Ecumenical Patriarchate Order of St. Andrew.⁣He has worked with the Open Doors Organization to make travel accessible to all individuals and is a partner in the Chicago Access Guide.⁣The Z Life Program is a partner of the Beyond the Waters Beach Party in Chicago, where individuals with disabilities and 700 participants enjoy a free day on the beach.⁣He is a member Shirley Ryan AbilityLab sports and peer mentor programs. He has received community awards from the Hellenic Bar Association of Illinois and United Hellenic American Congress. He was a Torchbearer for the Athens 2004 Olympic and Paralympic Games and worked with committees for the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games.

Fall 2022 Retreat Information:

Ticket Pricing: $75 General Admission Ticket; $85 Greek Time Ticket

Price includes 2 nights in a hotel style room with a roommate, all meals, supplies and a welcome bag.

 

You may request a roommate on the registration form and we will do our best to grant your request, however we cannot make any guarantees.

 

Itinerary and packing list will be distributed closer to the event.
